Chad’s journey began on the rivers of Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas, where a childhood love for paddling turned into a lifelong calling. A high school whitewater trip deepened that passion—and soon after, he became a backcountry and whitewater guide, leading others through the wild beauty of nature.

After moving to East Tennessee, Chad served his community as a firefighter and paramedic in Oak Ridge before following another passion: education. He earned his degree in elementary education and spent the past five years teaching in public schools.

River Run Outfitters brings it all together. It’s a place where Chad can blend his experiences as a guide, teacher, and public servant to build something lasting—offering not just rentals, but programs, camps, and meaningful outdoor experiences for youth and families alike.
